Simon was born in Melbourne, Australia, has lived in Toronto, Canada and several cities throughout the United States. In his spare time, he enjoys raising his four children along with his wife Amy, and serving on a variety of community boards. While at the University of Michigan, Simon tutored student-athletes, of which three have gone on to win Olympic gold medals (certainly a result of their superior understanding of economics) and several others have earned positions in the NBA and NFL.
