Diatron, a provider of hematology analyzers, was a leader in R&D with customers in 60 countries when Riverside initially made its investment. After the acquisition, Riverside contributed its operational expertise to expand the geographic reach and product offerings of the firm, while maintaining Diatron’s innovative spirit.
Riverside continues to build Diatron with the goal of making it the world’s premier mid-size medical analysis equipment firm. Riverside continues to pursue add-on acquisitions across the globe, and is constantly exploring ways to drive efficiencies, including partnering with Chinese manufacturers.
Riverside builds a leader by:
- Creating and vetting a list of over 40 potential acquisitions for Diatron, ultimately sourcing a new platform for REF III and an Argentine add-on for Diatron (Metrolab)
- Adding a seasoned CEO with several decades of experience in the microbiology industry to Diatron’s board
- Streamlining R&D to better address the demands of the market in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Reducing customer concentration while expanding into new markets
