The Riverside Company, a global private investor focused on the smaller end of the middle market, has acquired Frenchies Modern Nail Care (Frenchies), a franchisor that provides nail care services. Based in Littleton, Colorado, the Frenchies franchise system provides full-service manicures, pedicures and other nail care services to its loyal customers. Today, Frenchies has more than 20 locations across 13 states in the U.S.
“Frenchies is a natural addition to Bishops Cuts/Color and the thesis of creating a leading multi-brand franchisor of personal care service and health & wellness brands. Frenchies’ strong reputation and commitment to cleanliness and providing high quality nail care service offerings are a true differentiator in the nail salon industry,” said Riverside Managing Partner Loren Schlachet. “We are excited to partner with the Frenchies team to build upon Frenchies’ strong history and help expand the company’s services and geographic reach into more areas.”
Riverside’s investment in Frenchies marks Riverside’s 50th acquisition in the franchising space and is the most recent example of the firm’s commitment to its Franchising specialization. Riverside has invested in a cadre of successful franchise companies, growing them through operating expertise and strategic add-ons.
Frenchies CEO Guy Coffey also added, “We are thrilled to partner with a firm like Riverside and believe it will elevate the Frenchies franchise to new heights. Riverside’s expertise in brand development, marketing and operational support will be extremely valuable as we continue to bring Frenchies into more communities across the U.S.”
“Frenchies is a true leader in the nail salon industry with their commitment to cleanliness and providing high quality services with a team of nail technicians that are masters of their craft,” said Riverside Senior Partner Alan Peyrat. “Following our investment, we plan to support Frenchies by investing in franchise sales and marketing and continuing to drive growth across the existing franchisee network while expanding into new geographies.”
Working with Schlachet and Peyrat on the deal for Riverside were Principal Steve Rice, Senior Associate Aakeem Andrada, Associate Yima Asom, Operating Partner Tom Silk, Finance Director Chrissie Yim and Origination Partner Grant Marcks.
