The Riverside Company (Riverside), a global investment firm focused on the smaller end of the middle market, has announced that Decera Clinical, a healthcare portfolio company, has invested in Onviv, Inc.
Founded in 2015, Onviv’s specialized lines of business include real-world intelligence, scientific communications, training expertise and stakeholder engagement that support informed decisions and drive meaningful outcomes for clients and patients.
This investment expands Decera Clinical’s capabilities across healthcare insights, scientific engagement and medical communications, combining complementary expertise, proprietary methodologies and longstanding industry relationships.
In line with Decera Clinical’s mission of ‘Scientific Activation,™’ the combined organization will be better positioned to help healthcare professionals and life sciences organizations navigate increasing complexity, accelerate innovation and translate evidence into action so better outcomes can be delivered for patients, providers and the communities they serve.
Peter Tsang, Co-Chief Investment Officer, Riverside Capital Appreciation Fund (RCAF), commented: “This reflects our continued commitment to investing in differentiated, mission-aligned businesses positioned at the intersection of healthcare, technology, data and human expertise. Decera Clinical and Onviv each bring unique strengths and strong market positions, and together they are exceptionally well-positioned for continued growth, innovation and long-term value creation.”
Since 1988, Riverside has maintained a focused investment strategy in the healthcare sector, investing in more than 220 platforms and add-on companies. Following its investment in Decera Clinical in 2020, Onviv marks the next phase of growth, expanding capabilities and creating new opportunities to serve clients, supporters and healthcare stakeholders.
Leo Tarkovsky, CEO of Decera Clinical, said: “We are excited to welcome Onviv’s talented team to Decera Clinical. Onviv’s complementary capabilities and deep expertise will strengthen our ability to support clients and supporters and expand what we can achieve together. We are well-positioned to deliver greater value and meaningful impact across the healthcare ecosystem.” In addition, Tarkovsky added: “By harnessing Decera Clinical’s proprietary AI platform, ActivationOS, which unifies data, workflows and intelligence into a single system, Onviv’s go-to-market offerings will be accelerated across commercial and clinical execution.”
“From our earliest conversations, it was clear there was strong strategic and cultural alignment between our organizations,” said Jeff Meehan, Founder and CEO of Onviv. “We share a commitment to innovation, scientific excellence and advancing improved outcomes across healthcare. By joining Decera Clinical, we will be able to deliver even greater impact for our partner organizations and healthcare professionals.”
Working with Peter Tsang on the deal for Riverside were Principal Mark Fishman, Vice President Peter Muncey, Associate Barron Fletcher and Capital Markets Senior Partner Anne Hayes. Partner, Origination, Grant Marcks, sourced the deal.
