The Riverside Company Expands VITG Platform with The Instillery Add-On
The Riverside Company, a global investment firm on the smaller end of the middle market, will support its portfolio company Virtual IT Group (VITG) in its majority stake investment in The Instillery. The New Zealand-based cloud and cybersecurity company will join the VITG platform, expanding Riverside’s technology presence across Australia and New Zealand. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in Auckland in 2013, The Instillery provides enterprise cloud transformation, secure infrastructure and managed cybersecurity services to clients across the corporate and government sectors. The company is a leading Zscaler partner in New Zealand and is recognised for its technical leadership and customer relationships. VITG, backed by Riverside since June 2024, is one of Australia’s leading providers of managed IT and cybersecurity services.
“The Instillery is a complementary addition to the VITG platform, particularly given its strength in cloud security and its trusted reputation in the New Zealand market,” said Riverside Partner Nicholas Pejnovic. “There is a clear opportunity to extend VITG’s capabilities and customer reach while continuing to support both teams in delivering great outcomes.”
“The addition of The Instillery strengthens our platform across both geography and service offering,” said VITG CEO Christian Pacheco. “Their leadership team and culture align closely with ours, and we look forward to what we can build together.”
“Partnering with VITG and Riverside will allow us to accelerate our next phase while staying true to the culture and values that define us,” said The Instillery Managing Director Mike Russell. “We are excited about what we can achieve together.”
Working with Pejnovic on the transaction for Riverside were Principal Kevin Xu, Vice President Jenny Guo and Analyst Dominique Ling, with support from Senior Operating Partner Ed McManus.
